Carrots, guns and extreme sports, the best childrens TV ad I have ever witnessed

if this is not the VERY BEST snack food ad for kids i have ever scene – i dont know what is !!!! we have already corrupted our nations children to the point where guns and extremely dangerous are admired, why not use that grossly unhealthy adoration to promote something deliciously healthy !?

here is the NPR broadcast that brought it to my attention

Gel Remote Concept

Just when we started to get annoyed with the restrictive plastic casing that surrounds our remote controls. Just when we were about to throw it out oall together because of the terribly hard edges that could potentially be a bruising hazard for little johnny, Someone makes a gel remote . How cute!

I Mean REALLY Now ! granted it does look cool, but is it AT ALL necessary? Not to mention that with the soft, gushy texture of gel, wouldn’t this remote leave you wanting to squeeze it all the time ??! – I guess you can forget keeping that channel on !

My rating – cool, cute, impractical and unnecessary

Government Bailout… GREAT IDEA !

MSN VIDEO

Merrill Lynch Resigns- Because he spent too much money – and we found out …
Evidence that this bailout is the wrong decision. So we bail out all of these Americans, we give them the credit they do not deserve and then we loan them lots of money and assets that they either do not have the means to pay for or are not responsible enough to pay for. Then the bomb drops, of course after the party that gave all of the hand outs leaves office. So what do we do ? We get them back in office, this time with another smooth talker and instead of giving money to citizens , we give it to banks, so that they can continue to operate in the manner that screwed it up in the first place!
GO AMERICA ! Isnt it time to make people WORK for what they have – maybe take some responsibility for themselves ?!

From Mac|Life:

The MacBook Air is about as sexy as a notebook gets. Just try pulling one out in a crowd. First comes the oohing, and then the ahhing, and then—sorry, but yes—the borderline-inappropriate fondling. There’s just something about the Air’s katana-thin profile that demands hands-on attention. People need to touch it, and open it, and prove to themselves that it is indeed a functional computer. But the honeymoon doesn’t last forever. The Air is the perfect computer for a very particular user, but it’s not perfect in toto. No optical drive. No FireWire. The hard drive—anemic. And while the Air’s height is essentially nonexistent, its width-depth footprint is still a bulkmeister. In a lot of book bags and backpacks, the Air is as awkward a fit as any traditional notebook.

Thus the triBook. At first glance, it’s not quite as spectacular looking as the Air, but its amazing story literally unfolds as you put it to use.

At a mere 6.75 inches deep, 10 inches wide, and about an inch tall, the triBook strikes a modest profile–it easily slips into most purses and man bags and completely disappears inside any book bag or backpack. But while portability is nice, it’s typically achieved at the expense of utility, and this is where the triBook is a triumph. When the triBook’s lid is closed, the two side screens tuck in neatly, sandwiched between the main display and the keyboard/touchpad. And when it’s time to use the machine, you lift the lid and unfold the side panels, just as if you were unfolding a cardboard box.

When the two side screens are fully unfolded to form a flat plane with the center screen, you’re left with an ultrawide landscape display of 21 diagonal inches. Indeed, not only is the triBook more portable than the Air, it also offers much more screen real estate. But have fun, play a little. The sides don’t have to pivot by a perfect 180. Cocked at a jaunty angle, each side screen can be set to form a little privacy barrier.

Now, we could claim that the triBook is Apple’s much-anticipated entry into the “netbook” market, but using the term netbook doesn’t do the machine justice. Netbooks are teeny, tiny notebooks stuffed with underpowered parts, including the most insubstantial of screens. In other words, they’re imminently portable, but really only good for surfing webpages and typing out email.

Not so with the triBook. Besides no-compromise screen real estate, the triBook comes with an 8x SuperDrive, a kick-ass hard drive, an array of I/O connectors, and a MacBook Pro-caliber CPU. All that plus a generous keyboard and an expanded multitouch trackpad that supports a whole new complement of touch gestures.

So this is it, the so-called “brick” notebook that’s been rumor-mill fodder for the last three months. An exceedingly simple but effective concept—in short, Apple to the very core.

Loathing mtv

MTV has become a truly incompetent source of moral and social education. From the mind numbing repetitious “love” songs that vex me by the time the first first is over- to the grossly monotonous and blatantly imbecilic reality TV shows and unengaged so-called-hip-hop that glorifies uninhibited violence and makes listeners long to emulate this glamorous lifestyle that they have no means to afford. Worse still, is that the “lessons” they preach speak nothing of ambition and precept no sense of promising goals I um utterly disgusted

At Last(maybe) Google Contact Sync for Blackberry – and How to fix the glitch

Yes they have now done it- contact sync for my blackberry. I was delighted to here the news and immediately updated my phone with the newest version of google sync.

http://blogs.bnet.com/businesstips/images/google-sync-for-blackberry.jpg The problem however, is that the google sync literally destroyed my blackberry address book.
I had none of the contacts that I previously did, Email addresses that were not associated with names and about 200 phone numbers with unknown names.

Though I do rant and rave about how magnificent Gmail is, I am quite disappointed in the contact management system.

This problem does not only exist when syncing your Blackberry with your gmail contacts, but also when importing/export to and from outlook. The duplication detection system in effect is neither effective nor efficient.

PLEASE DON’T LET THIS DISMAY YOU FROM USING GMAIL – as it is by far the best email online !

****Before you try out google contact sync, I suggest backing up your phones contacts by syncing with outlook and exporting all of your contacts to q backup CSV file ( i do this weekly, you should too !)

If you already tried google contact sync for your blackberry, You CAN undo the unfortunate destruction of your precious address book ! (o:

here’s how- ( this is assuming that you regularly sync your address book with your outlook or other email software)

1) plug your phone into your computer, go to the blackberry desktop manager.

2) choose synchronize

change options for synchronizing email messages and organizer data

3) select the configuration tab

4) select configure sync; choose the application with your most recently backed up address book.
5) select address book and then click “setup”

6) set the device to sync one way from outlook to device

7) ensure that there is a check mark in the field labeled ” replace all existing data in target device”
8) your good to go , now sync your device and your life will be back to normal !!

good luck and let me know if you have any questions !
