Matter of opinion ?

Taking a practice quiz online for my Business course.
While the book does clearly define the “answer” to the following questions; I firmly believe that this is a matter of personal opinion, rather than fact. What do you think ?

Holly Jolly Christmas, Love Ms Grinch

So what is the best part of christmas ?

The insane traffic?
Ridiculous Lines?
Is it the non practical presents that we give and receive?
The emptying of our pockets to satisfy one day of cheer?
The forged smiles that our hearts cannot afford?
The obnoxious multi-colored blinking lights that take a day to put up, a week to admire and 2 days to put away?
The 5 lbs we put on when we gorge ourselves?

Nope ! – that all sucks!

The only reason that I get up on Christmas day is for our annual x mas dinner for the needy. My beloved grandfather humbly began this tradition 25 years ago. Volunteers from near and sometimes far come to help the Tedesco family ensure that everyone has a hot, hearty meal, good friendly company and a warm Christmas cheer. No matter who you are or what you have done, you are welcome here, at our Christmas dinner.

Greeting our guests is my favorite part, making them feel like they are at a five star restaurant. Unfortunately, many of these people go through every day feeling inferior, non worthy. You can see it most in their eyes, when I greet them, you can see how lonely they felt. A simple “hello, how are you, how is your Christmas going ?” puts a glow into their eyes, as if I have touched a part of their heart that has been dormant for far too long.

It is the most beautiful thing in the world.

Then when they ask you for something, and they are remembered, the corners of their mouth reach up high towards their ears and their eyes widen like the sun after dawn.
It is you being there that makes them happy, and isnt that the most beautiful happiness there could ever be?
Happiness with no strings attached, no dollar amount, no jealously, no fear, no greed, no circumstances and no worry?

The glee that I see when i give them their gifts at the end of dinner, when the unwrap what might very well be the only gift they receive… that is beauty.

You must remeber that, they are no less human then I. And everyone deserves to be special. Everyone deserves to be appreciated.

That Is the beauty of christmas.

Loathing mtv

MTV has become a truly incompetent source of moral and social education. From the mind numbing repetitious “love” songs that vex me by the time the first first is over- to the grossly monotonous and blatantly imbecilic reality TV shows and unengaged so-called-hip-hop that glorifies uninhibited violence and makes listeners long to emulate this glamorous lifestyle that they have no means to afford. Worse still, is that the “lessons” they preach speak nothing of ambition and precept no sense of promising goals I um utterly disgusted
